Young's Run is located off of Rt. 45 in Warren OH near Kent State Trumbull Branch and Trumbull County Technical Center. It is a 16 hole course with a par of 52 or if you're playing all 3's it would be a 48. The course starts out on a hilltop throwing down with two tee pads and two baskets to shoot at on any given day. After a mean left hook on a par 4 hole 2, you're in the woods and by hole 5 (and again on hole 9) you're shooting over a stream that moves pretty good. There are plenty of challenging holes on this course and a couple of holes that almost guarantee birdie (and with the right snap some aces).

If you're ever in the NorthEast Ohio area, be sure to check out Young's Run.

Now, across the street from Young's Run there is a lake with Kent State Trumbull Branch sitting some yards away. I just found today that there are 9 holes set up surrounding the west side of the lake and right around the campus. They're more open, but being near the water (and hole 7 having a pro tee about 400 feet from the pin across the water) it's still somewhat challenging.

These spots are both worth checking out and please remember to leave the area in better condition than you found it.

I ended up going today, but forgot to take my camera out of my bag every time i shot and by the time i remembered i was already in mid hole and thus was the scenario at every hole. Hopefully tomorrow I'll remember. I did get a 120ft (minimum) birdie on hole 13 with my driver on a sidearm throw. There's a school next door (Fairhaven) and when I made it there was no one on the course to share my joy with so I just jumped and hooted a lot and everyone stopped to stare. It was pretty rad. I also had two skips that could've been aces today, hole 11 and hole 14. If they each would've been about a foot higher they would've made the ching.

So I finally took some pictures. But not of every hole. It's just not a natural reaction for me to grab for the camera so by the time I did realize it I was either done with the hole or in between where there was no shot to be had. Here's a couple of pics though.

Tee 1 - Long. You'll notice a little to the right of the short tee pad, there are 2 pic trees, the long pin is behind them.
Hole 8 pin across the road/entrance to the back of the park.
Pin 8 with a nice drop behind it for any overshooters out there watch out on this hole. (I know the pin says 7 but there's been a new hole put in front of this one and they haven't changed the numbers yet.
    Walking to hole 9.

The Pin for Hole 9 is across this river/stream, to the left, up on the hill behind the trees.
There's the pin for Hole 9.
Hole 12. One of the 2 short holes here. I birdie this hole every time and I've almost aced it countless times.

I have tomorrow and Monday off of work, so I will have more time to spend at the course and I will finish my photo tour sometime in my time off.
